RCH Racing Announces Josh Hill Onboard for 2013
The Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Suzuki/RCH Racing team is pleased to announce Josh Hill returning to racing action for the 2013 season of Monster Energy Supercross onboard the 2013 RM-Z450.
“I am really excited to welcome Josh back for a 3rd season with the team,” said Team Owner Carey Hart. “Josh has had a tough couple of years and it wouldn’t feel right if we didn’t support him with the major progress he has made. Josh and Broc (Tickle) will work well with Ricky and we are going to see great things from the guys this year.”
For Ricky Carmichael, helping Josh get back to the level of racing competition he was at in 2009 is his goal. “I am excited to have Josh on the team. He is still pretty young and we are looking forward to helping him get back to where he was in 2009 and getting him the results he deserves; to do that we need to keep him healthy. He has great potential and a great attitude and I look forward to working with him.”
“It feels great to be back with the Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Suzuki RCH Racing team this year. We’ve already been putting in a lot of hard work to get to us where we need to be at Anaheim 1. I’m looking forward to a great season,” said Josh Hill.

On Saturday morning at Monster Energy Cup, RCH Racing announced the joining forces of Carey Hart’s Dodge/Sycuan Casino Racing team with Ricky Carmichael and factory support from Suzuki and Yoshimura research and development, as well as the signing of Broc Tickle to ride the 2013 RM-Z450.
Team Owner, Carey Hart, knows the partnership with Ricky Carmichael and Suzuki was the next step in growing his race program that started out as an idea on a napkin in 2007. “This is a really exciting time to be teaming up with Ricky. His resume speaks volumes and his ability to work with riders and build champions is priceless. Ricky was the pivotal piece to bringing Suzuki to our team and now that we have a long term relationship with them on a factory level I feel that we have all of the pieces to go out and win a championship. I think with Ricky working close with Broc during pre-season and throughout the course of the season will help boost Broc’s confidence and bring him up to the next level. Broc already has a ton of talent and he knows how to win championships. We are ready to be on the podium and winning races.”
Ricky, who will be leading the team’s rider development and motorcycle testing, research, and development, is looking forward to sharing lessons learned in his professional career now with RCH Racing. “I’m really excited about this partnership. Carey being successful as an athlete and as a business person has built a great foundation here in the sport and with myself being able to bring the Suzuki program over to the team really solidifies the deal and makes the team complete. We are looking forward to many good years. 2013 will be a building year and in 2014 I think we will be in contention for wins and a championship. Broc finished on the podium several times at the end of this past season and is a former Lites Champion so he knows what it takes to win races and championships. I think he is a diamond in the rough and with a little bit of guidance from myself and support from Suzuki I think we will be able to run top 5 each weekend and score some podium finishes.”
For Broc Tickle, the switch to RCH Racing was a great move for him. “Having Ricky part of the program and his knowledge from being the champion he is and his history with Suzuki made making the switch an easy decision for me. The factory support from Suzuki and Ricky knowing all there is to know about the bike and working with him at the track and in training makes this a step in the right direction for me. I’m looking forward to being part of RCH Racing and helping the team grow.”
“The sponsors of RCH Racing who have continued their support for the coming year and years to come are the key to continuing to help make this team grow and develop into a championship winning team. The people involved from Carey and Kenny to the mechanics and the behind the scenes crew really make this team what it is and a great team to ride for.”
The support from Yoshimura and Suzuki brings RCH Racing to a new level of competition and gives them the tools they need to build a championship contending team. Don Sakakura, President of Yoshimura Racing, LLC states, “Yoshimura is very excited to be involved as a sponsor of the RCH program. The rich history of industry Icons; Ricky Carmichael and Carey Hart are legendary; Yoshimura is thrilled with this opportunity! We look forward to great success this coming racing season!”
Larry Vandiver from American’ Suzuki Motor Corporation couldn’t be happier on the announcement of the partnership. “We are pleased to partner our champion approved RM-Z motorcycles with RCH Racing. We look forward to a long partnership that will raise the bar on racing and bring new fans to the sport.”

Melbourne, VIC (4th September2012) – The Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide race team set off for the last round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals for the year in sunny Coolum QLD.
With a great looking Coolum track we knew that this round would be one that everyone would remember, as most riders and teams go all out for the final round. Plus we had our custom gold chrome bikes which were put together by Exotic Graphix, Ringmaster Images and John Titman Racing.
With Lewis’s flying home to Melbourne mid week to visit his hand specialist we knew that this weekend would be his last on a bike for the year as he requires hand surgery (This will see Lewis heal up and coming into 2013 were he will now make the move back to the 450 class). Again with Lewis putting in an excellent qualifying session walking away with 8th overall on the Saturday this would give his hand time to rest before the 3 moto’s on Sunday. With Lewis getting off the line around 15th place he maintained a consistent pace and rode away to 9th place in moto 1. Lewis had a better jump off the gate in moto 2 where he was running inside the top 10, around 4 laps in he dropped his bike going into a corner, this would see him just outside the top 15, with some last minute passes Lewis got over the line in 14th place. With only a few points separating him to be placed inside the top 10, Lewis was determined before his final moto of the year. Again with Lewis getting a decent start just outside the top 10 he fought his way through the pack and held on for a 10th place finish which would see him 11th overall at the Coolum round and finish the MX2 championship in 10th place.
Daniel had a great decent qualifying session putting him in 12th place overall for Coolum round 10 of the MX Nationals. DMC’s moto 1 start was cracking with him sitting in 3rd place just after the first turn, as Dan rode solid and held his ground we would see him finish moto 1 in 5th place. Moto 2 would see Dan out of the gate up front again, but this time he couldn’t match his moto 1 5th place, and he would complete moto 2 in 8th. With an extended break due to a serious injury on the track DMC lined up for his final moto of the day and with the Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide team. With another awesome start as he has done all year DMC was running top 5, but after a few laps Dan faded back to 10th place which would see him get an overall of 8th place and finish the series in 9th place in the MX1 class. Dan has departed the team and will contest the Supercross series with another team. We would like to thanks Dan for his effort this year and wish him all the best.
We would like thank each and every one of our sponsors who is associated with the team as we could not have completed our first MX Nationals series without them.
Melbourne, VIC (23rd August 2012) – The Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide race team head to Moree MX track for the 9th round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.
A well groomed Moree MX track meant Sunday’s racing would be some of the finest coming into the 2nd last round of the series. Tire choice was also going to be another factor as it looked like the track might dry out towards the end of the day, making the riders switch to a harder pack tire.
Lewis again came into this round carrying a wrist injury which affected his riding in Appin, but he proved there he can still ran top 15 in the MX2 class. His injury is affecting him on the throttle side of the bike which doesn’t allow him full movement in his wrist, this cause’s Lewis to basically move the throttle with his elbow (as you will see in the latest web episode clip). With a mid pack start in moto 1 Lewis was able to consistently hold 15th place during the race, with a short 5 minute break Lewis was back on the line for moto 2. Again struggling with his wrist Lewis rode out the 2nd moto in 15th place and grabbed valuable championship points. With the 3rd and final moto up this was going to be the most painful for Lewis as moto 3 is the 30 minute plus moto, but as tough as Lewis is he fought his way up to 12th position for the final moto. Lewis now sits in 11th place in the MX2 championship.
DMC came into this round as fresh as he has been all year. Dan was looking to finally put his Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide Suzuki on the podium for the first time all season. With some great qualifying times DMC was 2 seconds off the leader which put him in 9th. With a cracking start Dan was out of the first corner in top 3, he held this place for a few laps but a couple of small mistakes would see him finish in 8th place for moto 1. With the short 5 minute break DMC was on the line again, McCoy launched off the line in moto 2 again running top 3 out of the first turn. Dan battle with the front runners for the entire moto, he held onto a well-earned 6th place. During the lunch break DMC changed his tire choice to the Pirelli 554 mid hard as the track was drying out which caused it to harden up. McCoy again put his RMZ450 into a top 5 spot coming out of the first turn for moto 3, his starts had been terrific all day! With a few battles going on Dan was strong enough to complete moto 3 in 8th place which would see him take an overall of 8th on the day. McCoy has now moved into 9th place in the MX1 championship.
The Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide team will head to Coolum QLD for the final round of Monster Energy MX Nationals on August 25th and August 26th for a two day schedule race.

Melbourne, VIC (2nd August 2012) – The Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide race team head to Appin MX track for the 8th round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.
A primed looking Appin track on Saturday only meant we were in for an awesome days racing on Sunday, with perfect weather conditions on Sunday this was DMC’s home track to take advantage of.
Coming off an injury to the weekend prior from a photoshoot, Lewis was to face an uphill battle with his throttle wrist. With Suzuki Racesafe doing the best they could on Lewis’s wrist it still could not eliminate the pain factor. With Lewis qualifying just outside the top 20 he knew the rest of the days moto’s were about championship points to keep that 10 place in the MX2 class. Both moto’s 1 and 2 Lewis had mid pack starts and rode solid considering to finish both moto 1 and 2 in 17th place which would grab him 8 championship points. During the lunch break a lot of icing on his wrist went down before the 30 minute plus moto. Again for moto 3 Lewis was just outside the top 15, but his effort was not lost seeing him complete a growling 30 minute plus moto in 16th place to clinch 5 precious championship pints. Lewis still sits in 10th place in the MX2 class and can rest his wrist during the 3 week break before Round 9.
With Dan’s first home town race and a lot of DMC’s fans Dan was keen to put his Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide Suzuki on the podium for the home town crowd. A few bike issues in practice meant DMC was force to ride his practice bike for qualifying. Only 2 second off the fastest qualifier left DMC in 8th for his session. With Dan first moto his start was around the top 10 mark, DMC was defiantly look on pace and was riding his spare bike smooth, he continued to maintain a 10th place in moto 1. With a great start in moto 2 Dan look like he was going to crack the top 5, but unfortunately he came together with Brad Anderson and was un able to finish moto 2 due to bike problems. With time to rest up for moto 3 DMC was ready for the 30 minute plus moto. With a cracking start Dan was inside the top 5 after the first corner and held this for a few laps. DMC rode solid through out the moto to finish off in 10th place, with an overall just outside the top 10 on the day Dan still sits in 10th place in the MX1 championship.
The Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide team will head to Moree NSW for round 9 of Monster Energy MX Nationals on August 19th for a one day schedule race.
